Operating Monday to Friday, with evening and weekend service available as needed, we’re committed to meeting the unique needs of the communities we serve.
Our service area includes all communities east of the line from Mt. Stewart to Point Prim, including Avondale, Orwell Cove, and more.

Who can use the services?
Transportation East proudly provides accessible, affordable transportation for Islanders living in Kings County, Prince Edward Island. Whether you’re a senior, a person with a disability, or a low-income resident, we’re here to make sure everyone has equal access to safe and reliable transportation.
What are your hours of operation?
Dispatch hours are from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. Please leave us a message and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.
Please note: To avoid disappointment, please allow 48 hours notice for new reservations.
How much notice do I have to give when I want to book the service?
The more notice you can provide us with the better. We request at least 48 hr notice but will accommodate last minute bookings based on availability.
What happens if I need to change or cancel an appointment?
If you need to cancel an outing please notify us as soon as possible. As we have a vehicle and driver reserved specifically for you, please provide us with at least 24hours notice, minimum for cancellation.
Can you just drop me off and come back for me?
Yes. Simply call us for a quote. Minimum charges will apply.

Lisa started as a Coordinator at Transportation East in February 2024. She brings prior experience from the non-profit sector. When you call to reserve a space or inquire about our services, it’s usually Lisa’s voice you’ll hear.

Wade was our inaugural driver hired by Transportation East in September 2023. His technical skills have been instrumental in getting us started, and he has consistently delivered exceptional and professional service to our riders since the beginning.

Lane offers 36 years of dedicated service with Health PEI, with a diverse background that includes supervision, management, maintenance, and transporting individuals. What truly sets Lane apart is his genuine compassion for helping others and his commitment to supporting his colleagues.

Sheila MacKenzie
President
Sheila is probably most well known as a musical entertainer, having played across the Island for almost 30 years at concerts, ceilidhs and with bands such as Fiddlers’ Sons, Celtic Ladies and the Chaisson Trio. Her professional background includes bookkeeping, office management and event planning and has been part of many fundraising projects and community organizations. Sheila is a school bus driver with the Public Schools Branch and lives with her family in Montague. Her mother is a regular user of Transportation East, a service her and her family have been very appreciative of, and is very excited to now be a part of the organization.

Nancy is a dedicated and accomplished business professional who actively supports community events and readily offers assistance to those in need. She has experience with Non-Profit Boards and is involved with the Souris Hospice Association and serves as the President on a board for Senior Citizens in Souris. Nancy is also aware of the importance of accessible transportation within our community.

Moved back to PEI in 2019 from Halifax to be closer to family. Worked in a variety of settings in Halifax as a Social Woker in Accessibility Support and Metro Community Living. Started in PEI in Long Term Care and Acute Care before coming to Montague Home Care 3 years ago. Live in Vernon River with my partner and 3 fur babies. Very proud and happy to be a part of Transportation East.
